Do I need my phone to use Brisa Daylo?
No. Brisa connects to Wi-Fi and updates on its own, keeping the latest screen visible between refreshes. There is no app to open or anything to unlock. You only need your phone briefly during the first setup.
What can Brisa Daylo show?
Weather, your calendar, financial markets and a daily quote. You pick a layout and Brisa shows the forecast, your agenda, your tickers or a quote on one calm e-ink screen.
Which markets and tickers are supported?
Any symbol available on Yahoo Finance: stocks, ETFs, forex and crypto such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, plus precious metals (gold, silver, platinum and palladium) sourced from gold.de. Track up to 3 tickers with sparkline charts and a portfolio value, calculated per asset as the current price × the number of units you hold. For personal reference only, not financial advice.
Which calendars work with Brisa?
Any calendar that provides an ICS feed, including Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Microsoft Outlook, among others. You can show up to 3 calendars in a day or week view.
How do I set the weather location?
Choose any place by city name or by GPS coordinates. Selected layouts also show the feels-like temperature next to the actual temperature.
What is the Weather Mood Index?
It is a biometeorological (biomet) indicator. It summarises how the current weather and atmospheric conditions are likely to feel for the human body, combining factors such as temperature, humidity and pressure into a simple, at-a-glance reading.
What do AQI and UVI mean?
AQI is the Air Quality Index, a standard measure of how clean or polluted the air is. UVI is the UV Index, which indicates the strength of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation so you know when sun protection is sensible.
Will the magnets hold on my fridge?
Yes. Brisa has six strong magnets on the back and holds securely on any steel fridge and other magnetic surfaces. The detachable stand attaches firmly with two magnets for shelves, desks and bedside tables.
How long does the battery last, and how do I charge it?
At the default hourly refresh the battery lasts around three months. It lasts longer if you refresh less often, and shorter if you refresh more. Charging takes about 2 hours over USB-C (cable not included).
What Wi-Fi does Brisa need?
A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. 5 GHz networks are not supported.
How do I refresh, configure or reset Brisa?
There is a single button on the back. Press it once to refresh the screen now, hold it for 3 seconds to enter configuration mode, or hold it for 10 seconds to restore factory settings.
Can I change units and formats?
Yes. In settings you can choose metric or imperial units, your date format and a 12- or 24-hour time format. The interface supports 34 Latin and Cyrillic-script languages.
Shipping, returns and warranty?
Brisa is handmade in small batches in the EU and dispatched from Poland within 1–2 business days. We deliver worldwide, including to Asia and Australia. EU delivery costs €12 with no import duties. US delivery costs €30 DDP; all duties and import fees are included, so nothing is due on delivery. For other destinations, Etsy shows the available delivery price; local import taxes or duties may apply. Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery; return shipping is paid by the buyer. Every Brisa comes with a 1-year warranty.
Does the screen need constant power?
No. An e-ink screen only draws power when it refreshes, not to keep showing an image. That is one of the reasons the battery lasts so long.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your data is not stored anywhere except on the device itself, and it is never shared with anyone.
Can I change the layout later, and are new templates added?
Yes. You can switch templates whenever you like, and new ones are added regularly through free software updates.
Does Brisa work worldwide?
Yes. Brisa works anywhere in the world and in any time zone.
How is Brisa different from a weather station?
Brisa is not a weather station with its own sensors. It uses Wi-Fi to show online forecasts and air-quality data alongside your calendar, market updates or a quote. Its e-ink screen does not glow, needs no constant power and can run for weeks or months on one charge.
What is in the box?
Your Brisa and its stand. There is no USB-C cable: almost everyone already has one, so leaving it out avoids needless e-waste and keeps the parcel small and light for a lower carbon footprint.
What is the enclosure made of?
A bioplastic made from natural raw materials (corn starch).
Can I hang Brisa on the wall?
Brisa Frame, the wooden version, can be wall-mounted. Brisa Daylo is designed for the fridge, a shelf or its stand rather than the wall.
How much does Brisa Daylo weigh?
About 200 grams.
Do I need an account or a subscription?
No. You pay once and use Brisa for as long as you like. There is no account to create and no subscription.
Is the screen readable in sunlight?
Yes. The e-ink screen is fully readable in direct sunlight. It does not glow, never demands your attention, and is very gentle on the eyes.
Does Brisa make any noise or light?
No. Brisa is completely silent and never lights up. It is designed to stay calm and quiet in the background.
Are software updates free?
Yes. Software updates are completely free.
How do I clean Brisa?
Wipe the enclosure gently with a mild detergent. The screen can be cleaned the same way.
Does Brisa make a good gift?
Yes. Brisa makes a lovely gift and is ready to use straight out of the box, with no assembly required.
Can I repair Brisa or replace the battery?
Yes. Brisa is designed to be easy to repair and has a user-replaceable battery, in line with the right-to-repair movement. A repairable frame with a swappable battery lasts far longer and helps cut down on electronic waste.
What’s the difference between Brisa Daylo and Brisa Frame?
Brisa Daylo costs €149 in the EU or €259 delivered to the US with duties included. Brisa Frame costs €139 in the EU or €249 delivered to the US. Daylo is the slim, magnetic, modular version; Brisa Frame sets the same calm e-ink screen in a warm wooden enclosure.
